Today, I want to share an amazing travel destination with you, which is Turtle Island in Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia! 🌟✨ 🚤 Departing from Sandakan Jetty, it takes about 45 minutes by speedboat to reach this secluded natural paradise. Along the way, the sea is as green as jade, shimmering with light, and breathtakingly beautiful! 🌊💖 Upon arrival on the island, you will be greeted by enthusiastic staff and a detailed introduction to the precautions. The management here is very strict, with everything based on protecting the turtles and maintaining ecological balance! 👏👏 🏡 As for accommodation, I chose the unique wooden cabins on the island. Although the facilities are simple, you can see the beautiful scenery of the sea and sky through the windows, which is simply refreshing! 🌅🛌 Waking up to the sound of the waves in the morning and falling asleep with the sea breeze at night, this experience of being in close contact with nature is something you can never enjoy in the city! 😴🌙 🐢 The highlight is here! As night falls, we gather on the beach, waiting for the moment when the turtles come ashore to lay eggs. In the dim light of the flashlight, a giant green turtle slowly crawls onto the beach, digging a sand pit with its hind limbs, laying smooth eggs, and then covering them with sand. 🥚🐢 Witnessing this miracle, I was extremely excited and felt a great sense of responsibility. 🙏💖 👩‍🔬 Every night after the turtles lay their eggs, the staff carefully transfer the eggs to a safe incubation area to prevent wild predators from destroying them, ensuring that the baby turtles can hatch safely and have a higher survival rate to return to the sea. Through communication with the staff, I learned about the survival status of turtles and the impact of human activities on them, which strengthened my determination to protect the marine ecosystem! 💪🌍 🌅 In addition to witnessing the miracle of turtle egg-laying, I also participated in a release activity organized by the staff, personally sending the hatched baby turtles back to the sea. Watching these little lives struggle in my hands and then bravely swim into the distance, I felt an unprecedented sense of achievement and satisfaction! 💖🌊 🏝️ In addition, Turtle Island also offers many other interesting ecological activities!
