Citadel

Kasbah of the Udayas is located on a hill at the mouth of the Bou Regreg river, opposite Sale ( a city in northwestern Morocco ) and adjacent to the old medina of Rabat. Kasbah means Citadel is built in the 12th century, the monumental gate located uphill and overlooking Rabat below is considered one of most beautiful gates of Moroccan architecture built in between 1195 and 1199, it was inserted into the previous wall of Kasbah. The oldest current structure at the site is its main mosque construction in 1150. It is listed along with other sites in Rabat, as an UNESCO World Heritage Site, remains a popular free tourist attraction within Rabat, offering scenic views of Rabat waterfront. It is mostly occupied as a residential neighborhood known for its white and blue walls
