If you're tired of the hustle and bustle of big cities and looking for a tranquil coastal town that hasn't been overrun by tourists, let me introduce you to Quy Nhon. This small town, located in central Vietnam, is a true hidden gem. It offers a blend of beautiful beaches, lush green mountains, and a simple yet charming local lifestyle. For this trip, we spent 3 days and 2 nights in Quy Nhon, flying directly from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Cat Airport and then taking a 30–40 minute ride into the town. Quy Nhon is still relatively unknown among international tourists, which means the atmosphere remains peaceful, the locals are friendly, and the natural beauty is unspoiled. The budget per person is approximately 5,500–7,000 THB (excluding airfare from Thailand). Here's a rough breakdown of the expenses: Accommodation: Hotels or hostels near the beach are quite affordable. We chose a sea-view accommodation at around 800 THB per night, totaling 1,600 THB for 2 nights per person. Transportation within the town: Grab is available, or you can rent a motorbike for 200 THB per day. For 3 days, it costs about 600 THB. Food: Meals cost around 80–150 THB each. The seafood is fresh and cheaper than in Da Nang or Nha Trang. Eating to your heart's content for 3 days costs no more than 1,200 THB. Sightseeing & entrance fees: Attractions like Eo Gio Cape, Ky Co Beach, Hoang Hau Beach, Cham Temples, etc., have entrance fees totaling around 400–600 THB. Miscellaneous expenses: Souvenirs, cafes, etc., approximately 1,000 THB. The most impressive aspect of Quy Nhon is its pristine nature and the absence of high-rise buildings obstructing the sea view. Ky Co Beach is stunning, with crystal-clear water revealing the sandy bottom, turquoise-blue seas, and cliffs that look like a movie scene. Eo Gio Cape features a wooden walkway along the cliffs, offering breathtaking sea views and plenty of photo spots. In the town, Hoang Hau Beach stands out with its unique round stones resembling natural marbles scattered across the shore. There are also ancient temples and traditional culture to explore, along with small seaside cafes perfect for sipping coffee, gazing at the sea, and letting time slow down. Overall, the Quy Nhon trip is budget-friendly yet provides a true sense of relaxation for both body and mind. If you're looking to experience Vietnam from a different perspective than its bustling cities, this is a destination worth visiting before it becomes a crowded hotspot like many other major cities.
