Holiday Inn Express Quanzhou City Center

❤️I booked the hotel early for the Lunar New Year holiday. Since I was checking in on the sixth day of the new year, I booked it two or three weeks in advance. At that time, there were no twin beds left for the sixth, so I booked a lake view king-size bed room for the first night and a city view twin bed room for the following nights. ❤️Check-in was at 4 p.m. I asked the front desk if I could change the first night's lake view king-size bed room to a city view twin bed room so I wouldn't have to change rooms. The lady at the front desk was very nice and told me there were rooms available and I could change for an extra fee. So I paid about forty RMB more to change to a city view twin bed room for all three nights (lake view twin bed rooms were not available). I had heard that a family next to me got free breakfast when they checked in, so I asked if my child could get free breakfast too, and the front desk readily agreed. ❤️The first night on the sixth cost over eight hundred RMB. With the extra forty RMB, it was basically nine hundred RMB a night, but it was a twin bed room, so I was quite satisfied. The room was okay. The beds weren't big, 1.2 meters wide. The view from the window was of other residential buildings, nothing special. The room was clean and had a separate bathroom. The sink area provided free facial cleanser, makeup remover, etc., and also a hair clip and rubber band, which was a nice touch. ❤️The shower pressure wasn't very strong, but it was okay. During the Lunar New Year period, there was no one at the entrance to the breakfast area, so people could come and go as they pleased. The breakfast selection was okay, but the area was quite small. The coffee was really bitter, the small wontons were okay, the noodles were alright, and the fried eggs were pre-cooked. There was no live cooking station, only noodles and wontons. ❤️The soundproofing was so-so. I could hear the sound of doors closing across the hall in the morning. There was a gap at the bottom of the door, and the light from the hallway would shine through at night, but I didn't mind. ❤️The hotel lobby was very nice. You could buy cultural and creative products there, and the prices were the same as in West Street. The hotel's location was also good. I walked to West Street and Kaiyuan Temple. It was a nice city walk. You could also take the bus. The bus stop is right outside the hotel, turn right. During the Lunar New Year period, the bus and the small white cars were free, but I never got to experience that. ❤️Overall, this hotel was pretty good for the Lunar New Year period.
