The Zhalong Nature Reserve, a place I've long yearned to visit, is China's largest nature reserve dedicated to protecting rare waterfowl, especially red-crowned cranes. Its vast reed wetlands are a paradise for birds. Stepping into the reserve, a vast expanse of white greets the eye.
