Sanming is truly a treasure city in Fujian. I stayed two nights at the Tianfang Yuetan Hot Spring Resort in Qingliu County. This is the only hot spring in China containing germanium, and it's even drinkable. Visit the germanium spring source; the water is boiling, fiery hot, reaching a maximum temperature of 93°C, bubbling away. The intense heat of the hot spring creates natural delicacies: organic germanium hot spring eggs—you must try them! Soaking in the hot spring every night was so relaxing! The Tianfang Yuetan Hot Spring Resort has excellent facilities, and the local specialties in the restaurant are quite good. I recommend the germanium-fired free-range chicken cooked over a wood-fired stove, braised beef ribs, Hakka sweet potato buns, and handmade glutinous rice cakes—they're all very unique.
