Welcome everyone to Meizhou Island to experience the true Mazu culture~

The most worthwhile place to visit on Meizhou Island is the Ewei Divine Rock Garden, but the one place you must go is the Mazu Temple! It is only when you arrive at Meizhou Island that you realize Mazu is actually from Meizhou. The Mazu Temple here is the ancestral temple, the true place of origin! And we were very lucky that on the day we unknowingly chose to go to the Mazu Temple, it just so happened to be the 1036th anniversary of Mazu's ascension to immortality. Taoists from Taiwan and believers from all walks of life came to the Mazu Temple to pay their respects and offer incense. The scale of the event was something I had never seen before! I was shocked and truly felt the influence of Mazu culture! We watched the entire process of the event at the Mazu Temple. There were probably over a thousand participants. After the event, I saw them taking Mazu back and then starting a tour around the island. Later, we encountered them in many places and could really feel their devotion! After leaving the Mazu Temple, we went to the Tianhou Hometown, which is essentially a museum that introduces some of Mazu's life stories. If you have time, it's worth taking a look~
