Living abroad for a year, here are my top 5 places to live and travel.

Over the past year, I've been fortunate enough to visit over 20 cities in 4 countries and experience different lifestyles. Most of the time, I've been exploring islands in China and Southeast Asia, and now I want to share the five places I think are the best for long-term living and travel. I have three main criteria for choosing a place to live: ❶ Pleasant climate and beautiful scenery: I'm looking for a place without extreme weather, a city or surrounding area with beautiful natural scenery, where I can easily enjoy the beauty of the mountains and the sea. ❷ Convenient living: I hope there are plenty of delicious food, cafes, gyms nearby, convenient shopping and delivery services, and supermarkets and markets within walking distance. ❸ Reasonable cost of living: I expect my total monthly expenses to be no more than CNY 5,000. Here are the five places I recommend: 1⃣️ Yining, Xinjiang Xinjiang is famous for its magnificent natural scenery, and Yining is no exception. It is very close to the surrounding tourist attractions, and you can rent a car for a short trip to Sailimu Lake and other grasslands🌿. The living facilities are complete, and you can experience the local customs of Xinjiang. Cost of living: I stayed in Yining for nearly a month in May, with accommodation costing CNY 2,500, food and drink CNY 2,000, car rental and play CNY 1,500, totaling CNY 6,000. 2⃣️ Mangshi Mangshi is similar to Chiang Mai, a small Southeast Asian city surrounded by mountains, full of exotic charm, very suitable for people who like a leisurely life. The surrounding Baoshan⛰️, Tengchong, and Dali are also very close, warm and comfortable in winter, and sunny🌞. Cost of living: The overall cost of living in Mangshi is lower than that in Dali, and the food and accommodation are very economical. 3⃣️ Chengdu Chengdu was originally a city I planned to transit, but its convenience and low cost surprised me, and I plan to come back for a long stay in the future. The convenience of life is comparable to Shanghai, but the prices may be less than half of Shanghai, and the rent in the core area is also very affordable. The people of Chengdu live a relaxed life, and it is also very convenient to travel to western Sichuan on weekends. The only downside may be the heavy rain. 4⃣️ Shunde The food in Shunde is amazing, and it's worth coming back to live for a while just for that. The whole city is very suitable for a slow-paced life. 5⃣️ Phuket I think Phuket is an ideal choice for a seaside city: the sea is just outside the door, the prices are low (you can enjoy food for an average of CNY 10-30/you can rent an apartment with a swimming pool for CNY 2,000), and life is convenient. In the evening, you can enjoy the sunset🌇 and sunset by the sea, which undoubtedly adds a lot of color to life.
