Wat Phra Nan Sang temple in Phuket

The Phra Nang San Monastery is said to be related to a legend of a Thai woman named Phra Nang Lewd. According to legend, there was a wife of the city chief named Phra Nang Lewd Khao. She had sex with another man. The mayor found out about this, so he was punished. She, a Buddhist, asked to go on a pilgrimage to Sri Lanka before she was punished. When she returned from the pilgrimage, she built a temple in Thanlan (the old name of Phuket) on the way back. Inside the old pagoda, the world's oldest 3 Buddha statues named The Three Kings were offered. When he returned home, he was sentenced to death.
