Visit the ancient temple with over 100 years of history

Wat Sakhla is a public temple under the Maha Nikaya sect, located in Moo 3, Ban Sakhla, Na Kluea Subdistrict, Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan Province. The Ban Sakhla community is a village situated at the mouth of the Chao Phraya River, where it flows into the Gulf of Thailand. The entrance to Wat Sakhla passes through a Rahu arch, which exudes an aura of awe. Rahu symbolizes the dispelling and protection against evil. Inside the temple, the vihara houses several ancient Buddha statues, especially Luang Pho To, which was built alongside the temple. This Buddha statue is in the U-Thong style and depicts the Mara Vichaya posture. Surrounding the ordination hall, there are eight ancient boundary stones placed on seven-headed Naga pedestals. Another highlight is the leaning prang located in front of the temple by the Sakhla Canal, which tilted due to soil subsidence over a century ago.
