Wat Sakhla: A Beautiful Temple Near the Gulf of Thailand

Wat Sakhla is situated in the Sakhla community, an ancient village dating back to the Ayutthaya period. It is said that the women of this village fought in wars during the Ayutthaya era, earning the village the name 'Sao Kla' (brave women), which eventually evolved into 'Sakhla'. For those who believe in spiritual practices, this temple is a must-visit. People often come here to pray for good fortune and career success. Highlights of the temple include the statue of Phra Sangkachai holding bags of gold and silver, the leaning prang, and the statue of Thao Wessuwan. Visitors also commonly pass through the old chapel, where they can pass under the statue of Phra Rahu, which is believed to ward off bad luck and improve one's destiny.
