💛 Wat Mahathat, beautiful and peaceful 💛 Unseen in Thailand 🌳 Buddha's head in a tree 🙏 This is my first time at Wat Mahathat. When I walked in, I was surprised by the first check-in point, which was the image of a Buddha's head in a tree. Wow! It's so beautiful, shady, and magical. I've never seen it before. 🙏 The Buddha's head covered by a Bodhi tree, with only the Buddha's face visible. This is the highlight of Wat Mahathat. Many foreigners take pictures of this spot. 🎈 I overheard a tour guide telling tourists that it is assumed that the Buddha's head broke when the capital was lost. Later, a Bodhi tree grew in that area, so the roots surrounded the head, but the body of the Buddha was lost. The Buddha's head is next to the small chapel, which is covered by Bodhi roots. The Fine Arts Department cannot cut down the Bodhi tree because the roots help support the chapel. 🎈The inside of the temple is spacious, with many pagodas and Buddha statues that are still traces of the fall of Ayutthaya. We think that anyone who has children or grandchildren should bring them to study history. The younger generation will love and care for, be united, and love their country. 🚘 Anyone who visits Ayutthaya, don't miss this temple. We recommend coming on weekdays, when there are fewer people.
