Wat Chantawan Tok, an ancient temple on the riverside

Wat Chantawan Tok is an ancient temple in Phitsanulok Province, located on the banks of the Nan River. It is believed to have been built since the Sukhothai period and renovated in the Ayutthaya period. Inside the temple, there is an ancient chapel that enshrines the sacred Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture. There are also old murals that represent traditional Thai art. This temple used to enshrine Luang Pho Phet, an important Buddha statue, before being invited to be enshrined at Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat, making Wat Chantawan Tok another sacred place that the locals respect.
