Wat Chantawan Tok, an ancient temple in Phitsanulok

Wat Chan Ta Wan is an ancient temple located on the bank of the Nan River in Phitsanulok Province. It is believed that it was built during the Sukhothai period and was renovated during the Ayutthaya period. Inside the temple, there is an ancient chapel that enshrines the sacred Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture, along with valuable mural paintings in art and history. The temple is also known for Luang Pho Phet, a sacred Buddha statue that was once enshrined here before being invited to Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat, making Wat Chan Ta Wan a center of faith for the people of Phitsanulok.
