The legendary ancient recipe Khao Chae, which Mae Or still sells with a smile in the market. Khao Chae is a famous menu of Phetchaburi that is sold in many shops. There are 2 well-known shops: Mae Or Khao Chae and Mae Uen Khao Chae, which have been guaranteed by many food tasters that they are delicious. So we had to try it. Soft rice grains of Khao Chae with fragrant ice water, eaten with 3 side dishes: sweet fish, shrimp paste balls, and sweet pickled turnips that are not too sweet. The taste is a bit mellow because they use Phetchaburi sugar. The way to eat it is to put the side dishes in your mouth, followed by the Khao Chae, and sip the cool water, very refreshing. 😋 The shop is located in the fresh market, Soi Talad Rim Nam Phetchaburi community. Walk out of Wat Mahathat, cross the bridge over the Phetchaburi River, and turn left into a small alley. There is Street Art for you to take pictures of.
