Egyptian collection at Louvre Museum

If you have never being to Egypt but want to see real antiques from the country and explore the ancient history, then you need a visit exclusively to the The Louvre's Egyptian Antiquities. The Department of Egyptian Antiquities occupies two floors. The collection is the largest of its kind so include this visit in your TO-DO list when you are in the museum. The museum is at the city's down town so you can stop by anytime, specially if it is a rainy day better this kind of indoor plans. The collection spans Egyptian history, from the the Old Kingdom (2055 BCE) up to the Byzantine era (to 1453). This museum is enormous so you can easily skip accidentally certain rooms. Better take your the time and plan ahead so you won't miss anything. It opens to the public everyday from 7 am to 6 pm.
