Korakuen, Kairakuen in Mito, and Kenrokuen in Kanazawa are known as the three great gardens of Japan. Unlike other Japanese gardens, Korakuen was the first garden to plant large areas of lawn. The highlight of the garden is the artificial mountain, Yuishinzan, in the center of the garden. *️⃣ The Great Torii (meaning the gate to the shrine), the symbol of Miyajima, was built in 1875 and is the 8th reconstruction since the Heian period. The vermilion Great Torii is made of unprocessed camphor wood, about 16 meters high, and the upper beam is 24 meters long. It stands on the vast blue waves of the Seto Inland Sea by its own weight, showing its unique majesty. *️⃣ Kurashiki in Okayama is a famous historical street in Okayama Prefecture, with well-preserved Edo period buildings, white-walled and black-tiled warehouses, and willow-shaded canals, full of retro style. You can take a boat tour of the canal, stroll along the cobblestone streets, and visit specialty shops and cafes.
