Kibitsu-hiko Shrine

A shrine dedicated to Kibitsu-hiko-no-mikoto, the model for the legendary Momotaro. The traditional shrine architecture combined with the lush greenery creates a majestic and splendid atmosphere. The main hall is designated as an important cultural property by the prefecture. The ancient 'Kibi no Nakayama,' revered as a sacred mountain, is known as a power spot where gods descend. On the summer solstice, the shrine is also called 'Asahi no Miya' because the morning sun rises directly in front of the torii gate.
