Bang Kwang Temple, Nonthaburi

#GetDiscountsWithoutLuck - Wat Bang Kwang was established in 1902 and received the Royal Visungkhamasima on January 24, 1958. It is believed to have existed since the Ayutthaya period. Originally called Wat Bang Yang, it was named after a large rubber tree growing along the canal. However, it was struck by lightning, and the municipality had to cut it down. The temple is located at the end of Khlong Bang Si Thong. Originally, Khlong Bang Si Thong and Khlong Bang Si Thong were one and the same canal. Until the reign of King Prasat Thong, he realized that navigation along the existing river was a detour and time-consuming. He ordered the digging of a shortcut canal from Wat Khema Phirataram to the mouth of the Om River. Khlong Bang Si Thong was thus severed. The canal at the beginning remains known as Khlong Bang Si Thong, while the end of the canal was renamed Khlong Bang Si Thong due to the canal's obstruction.
