The Wannian Ice Cave in Luya Mountain, Ningwu, Shanxi

The Wannian Ice Cave is located in Chunjingqi Township, 50 kilometers west of Ningwu County, Shanxi Province, next to the tourist line, with an altitude of 2,300 meters. After on-site inspection by cave experts from the Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, it was confirmed that this cave was formed during the Quaternary glacial period of the Cenozoic Era, about three million years ago, hence the name Ten Thousand Year Ice Cave. In 2005, Ningwu Wannian Ice Cave became a national geological park in the fourth batch of national geological parks evaluation. In March 2011, it was rated as a national 4A-level tourist attraction.
