Cliff Walk, Newport

#usatravel #rhodeisland #100waysoftravel After spending the afternoon exploring the beautiful mansions of Newport, we had a couple of hours to get some exercise by walking along the Cliff Walk—a world-famous public trail that offers a stunning blend of natural beauty and historic grandeur. Stretching 3.5 miles along the rugged coastline. The Cliff Walk provides spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the opulent Gilded Age mansions on the other. Moreover, it’s free to access, open year-round, and offers a fantastic way to explore Newport’s scenic coastline. The trail presents breathtaking views of the Atlantic, with crashing waves, rocky cliffs, and coastal wildlife. As you walk, you’ll encounter sweeping ocean vistas, lush vegetation, and scenic overlooks where you can stop and admire the surroundings. On the inland side, you’ll spot many of Newport’s most famous Gilded Age mansions, including The Breakers, Marble House, Rosecliff, and Château-sur-Mer—grand estates built by some of America’s wealthiest families during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We enjoyed our time on this beautiful trail so much that we didn’t want it to end. It was truly a remarkable experience. We highly recommend this path to anyone traveling to Newport.
