Where to go in Nanjing | The Red Mountain Forest Zoo, a combination of science education and sightseeing

The Red Mountain Forest Zoo in Nanjing is located at the intersection of Xuanwu District and Yan Road, and it is the only self-funded public welfare zoo in China. The zoo includes several peaks such as Dahong Mountain, Xiaohong Mountain, and Fangniu Mountain, with the highest altitude being 81.8 meters. It is divided into three major areas: Xiaohong Mountain area, Dahong Mountain area, and Fangniu Mountain area, featuring nearly 20 exhibition halls including the Australian Animal Exhibition Area, Elephant House, Zebra House, Lion and Tiger Mountain, Penguin House, and Gorilla House. What impressed me the most is not only the various animals coexisting harmoniously in the zoo but also the zoo's dedication to animal science education. The educational approach is both fun and instructive, and the effort is evident everywhere. There are several cultural and creative sales spots within the zoo, with slightly different merchandise. The largest souvenir shop is located at the exit, where you can buy everything in one stop. ❣️Tips 1. The terrain inside the zoo is uneven, so it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes. 2. There are limited dining areas inside the zoo, so it is advisable to bring your own dry food. 3. Cultural and creative products are also a feature of the zoo. If you are visiting with friends, one can queue to pay while the other picks out items, saving time.
