Phra That Kham Kaen, the glory of Khon Kaen

I had the opportunity to pay homage to Phra That Kaen Nakhon in Khon Kaen. There is an old legend that this is a sacred relic of the city. This is because the kings in the past intended to enshrine the relics of the Lord Buddha in Phra That Phanom, but they never made it there because Phra That Phanom was already completed. They then invited the relics of the Lord Buddha back to the current location and found that the core of a tamarind tree that had died when they traveled there had grown back and blossomed with fruit. It was a great miracle. They then placed the relics of the Lord Buddha in there and built a pagoda to cover the core of the tamarind tree.
