While the Botanical Garden adjacent to the park has a small entry fee, the free section of Nymphenburg Park is massive and full of botanical highlights itself. The formal Baroque gardens right behind the palace are a masterpiece of symmetry and design. For me, the most cost-effective delight was exploring the small, charming "park palaces" like the Amalienburg and Pagodenburg from the outside. Walking from one to the next is a beautiful journey in itself. The sense of peace and the fresh air are the best value proposition in the city.
