It was built during the British colonial period and opened in 1887. The glamorous exterior, which combines neo-Gothic architecture from the Victorian era with traditional Indian elements such as stone domes and spires, is a masterpiece. The interior is decorated with beautiful details, including stained glass and stone sculptures. The station itself is the only one in the world that is registered as a World Heritage Site.
