Iwate Bank Red Brick Building/Iwate

I visited the Iwate Bank Red Brick Building, a historical structure located on Nakanohashi Street in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture 🧱 Originally built as the headquarters of Morioka Bank, the building was designed by the architectural firm Tetsuno-Kasai, led by Tatsuno Kingo, famous for designing Tokyo Station, and Kasai Banji, who was from Morioka. It is the only surviving work of Tatsuno Kingo in the Tohoku region 🤍 The building is a two-story red brick structure with a Renaissance-style exterior, featuring white granite bands and a dome roof. Its majestic design is truly stunning 🕊️ Unfortunately, I couldn’t go inside as it was closed on Tuesday 😢. On other days, you can visit between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM for an admission fee of 300 yen ✨
