National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) @Melbourne 🎨✨

The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is Australia's oldest and most visited art museum. Located in Melbourne's cultural heart, it showcases an international collection of art and design. 🏛️ NGV Features The NGV is comprised of two main buildings: NGV International, dedicated to international art and design, and The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, dedicated to Australian art. Both buildings are open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and admission is free. Special exhibitions may require an admission fee. 🎨 Exhibitions and Events In addition to its permanent collection, the NGV also hosts many special exhibitions. For example, from December 7, 2025 to April 19, 2026, it will host a collaborative exhibition featuring Vivienne Westwood and Rei Kawakubo, titled "Westwood | Kawakubo." The exhibition showcases the innovative fashion of both designers, with a particular focus on the achievements of female designers.  NGV International also hosted the world's first large-scale retrospective of Yayoi Kusama's work from December 2024 to April 21, 2025. This exhibition featured over 180 pieces, including Kusama's signature works, "Infinity Mirror Room" and "Dancing Pumpkins."  🍽️ Cafe and Shop NGV also features a cafe and shop. The cafe offers art-themed menus and occasionally hosts special events. The shop sells exhibition-related merchandise and art-related books.  🗺️ Directions NGV International is located at 180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne. Public transport options include tram lines 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 16, 64, 67, and 72, and is conveniently located at the Arts Precinct stop.
