Melaka has an interesting colonial history, you can still see some of the beautiful colonizers’ architectural remnants in the city, such as St. Paul’s Church by the Portuguese and the Red Square by Dutch, which includes the iconic red-painted Christ Church and Stadhuys. Not forgetting the fasinated Jonker Street! 3. The ethnic groups in Melaka compose of Chinese, Indians, Malays, and Peranakans (mixed ethnicities, usually of Chinese & Malay descent), plus Kristangs (mixed ethnicities of Portuguese & Indian/Malay descent). This diversity is clearly reflected in the Malaccan food scene, absolutely a food heaven for foodies! Once you arrive in Melaka, almost everything can be done on foot as all the main landmarks are within walking distance of each other.
