Where to go for a holiday? Head to the San Su Ci in Dongpo District, Meishan City, Sichuan Province

San Su Ci, located in the southern section of Shayanxing in Dongpo District, Meishan City, Sichuan Province, was originally built during the Northern Song Dynasty. The current structure was rebuilt in the fourth year of the Qing Dynasty's Kangxi era (1665) and covers an area of 65,000 square meters. It is the former residence and ancestral hall of the Northern Song literary figures Su Xun, Su Shi, and Su Zhe, a father and his two sons. San Su Ci is a Qing Dynasty garden-style literati ancestral hall. The complex includes the front hall (ancient ancestral hall gate), the feasting hall, Qixian Hall, Laifeng Pavilion, east and west wing rooms, and corridors, forming a three-section, four-sided courtyard along the same central axis from south to north. The east and west wing rooms are balanced on the left and right but also freely varied, creating an asymmetrical pattern. San Su Ci is an important site for studying the three Su family members and their culture, as well as an important physical example for studying the architectural and garden arts of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. On May 25, 2006, San Su Ci was announced by the State Council as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
