Renting a kimono outfit in Matsumoto

With the morning temperature hovering around -3 degrees Celsius, we were advised to keep our basic layers on beneath the rented kimono outfits. We got immensely lucky with the weather as the previous day’s snowstorm had dissipated - had it continued, we would have had to be content with a mere indoor photoshoot. Over the following 2 hours, we enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the peaceful town of Matsumoto, but not before making a mandatory stop in front of the beautiful Matsumoto Castle. We were stoked to have the entire place all to ourselves for a considerable amount of time, which would be impossible during the peak sakura season.
