🇪🇸Walking into history🇪🇸🌸Must see in Malaga💕

🇪🇸Marvelous Malaga🇪🇸 This is the Teatro Romano de Málaga~ Malaga's Roman theatre which remained hidden underground for many centuries. It lies at the foot of the Alcazaba fortress in the western part of the city. It was discovered in 1951, after having remained buried underground for many centuries. Dating back to the first century, it was built during the Empire of Augustus and was used up until the third century. The Arabs used parts of the theatre for their own building purposes. They took capitals and column shafts for their own Alcazaba fortress as support for the horseshoe arches over the doorways. The theatre has a radius of 31 metres is 16 metres tall and has an orchestra of 15 metres. The area has three main stands and gateways that lead into the stands. You can go in or you can stay outside and view the teatro💕 #summerdestinations #summervacation #freehotelstay #familytrip #localguides #spaintrip #historicallandmarks #mytravelhacks #passionpassport #awesomepic #urbanexplorer #spain #foodie #asiatrip #mustdo #food #trip

Teatro Romano

Teatro Romano is the oldest monument in Málaga City; it is situated in the cultural heart of Málaga city, at the foot of the famous Alcazaba fortress. It is one of the only Ancient ruins left in Málaga after the outwardly Republican city was bombed by Nationalist sympathizers - the Italian army during the Civil war, and one of the only remaining Roman ruins in Andalucía after centuries of warfare, and construction. The site is accompanied by the Centro de Interpretación (visitors centre) which teaches visitors about the history of the ruins and its subsequent excavation. Admission is free (but not advertised on outside as free). There is no disabled access to the site. Do wear comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of walking. Getting There - There is a lot of buses and many train and subway stops nearby. Attractions - A nice place to sit, people watch and immerse yourself in roman history Hotels - Many hotels nearby to suit all budgets Food & Restaurants - Many F&B outlets and restaurants to suit all budgets Shopping - Souvenier, retail and luxury shopping available nearby. #teatroromano #malaga #spain
