Málaga - What a surprise! Here are my tips.

I’ve been to a few of the main cities in Spain and I didn’t know what to expect from Malaga, so everything turned out to be a positive surprise. The city is beautiful in architecture and how clean and well preserved things are. There marbled streets are literally shining from how polished they are. People are friendly (it’s south Spain!), prices are cheaper than other cities and the sun shines bright there. I was there at the end of March and the average temperature was 20•C and sunny. My tips from the trip: Alcazaba & Gibralfaro - they’re both free after 2pm; of get a combined discounted ticket for both for them. Train / transport - You can use your card or mobile phone card to tap and pay for the train and bus (look for the digital reader), so you don’t have to buy a paper ticket or have cash. Make sure you tap in and out, if it’s a train ride. You can keep using the same card through the day and Transport Malaga will work out how much you spent by the end of the day. The train from the airport to the centre costs €1.80 vs the bus which is €4. Restaurants / food - ‘La esquisita de las gambas’ on Calle Beatas has very fresh seafood, very cheap, and the nicest staff. They have a small menu, but they do it well. A must. El caminito del Rey - My trip was last minute, so tickets on their website was sold out. I emailed them asking to be put on a waiting list. They were very helpful and asked me to create a profile on their website. Then they’ve added a ticket to my account, so I bought it straight away. Make sure to buy the bus ticket on their site as well, to avoid the queues at the station. Have a great trip to Malaga 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸
