The road from Lhasa to Nyingchi heals altitude sickness and refreshes your eyes with every step!

After toughing out two days of altitude sickness in Lhasa, with headaches making me want to empty my mind, as soon as I drove toward Nyingchi, even the wind became gentle—this isn’t just traveling, it’s like stepping into a natural “healing theater”! First, the Nyang River gave me a “visual shock”! Under the sunlight, the river water is a clear blue-green, as if the plateau’s blue sky and white clouds were crushed and soaked inside it. Staring at it for a long time made my eyes feel “washed clean,” and even my breathing felt lighter~ When it merges into the Yarlung Tsangpo River, it’s even more amazing! You can clearly see a “boundary line between clear and turbid water”: on one side, the Nyang River’s blue-green transparency, and on the other, the Yarlung Tsangpo’s deep, somber green. The clash of these two colors is bolder than any filter, and no matter how many photos you take, you can’t capture the shock of the scene! I was originally disappointed not to see Namcha Barwa Peak yesterday because of the cloudy weather, but then I turned a corner and encountered mist swirling around the forest! Low clouds wrapped around the dense trees, whose leaves looked like they had just been showered by rain, shining dazzlingly. The moment I stepped in, I felt like I had entered a Hayao Miyazaki animation—turns out cloudy days can bring such romantic surprises! Crossing the Polong Tsangpo River at Polonggou Bridge, I also unlocked a special experience—no signal + a 3-hour traffic jam! I was a bit anxious at first, but watching the clouds slowly drift by the riverbank and listening to the rushing water became the slowest, most peaceful moment of the trip. Thinking back now, it was wonderful~ Further ahead is the Palong Tsangpo River! The most amazing thing is that it flows from east to west (the first time I’ve seen a river flowing backward!). Its upper reaches connect to the spectacular Ranwu Lake, whose surface is so vast it seems endless, and its blue blends seamlessly with the sky. Standing by the lake left me speechless! Along the way, you’ll also pass a series of glaciers: Langqiu, Midui, Laigu... Who would have thought that Nyingchi, with its low altitude and dense vegetation that “naturally absorbs oxygen,” hides so many white glaciers? On one side are lush green trees, and on the other, sparkling ice. This contrast instantly engraved “nature’s master craftsmanship” in my mind! Now my mind is full of “how can there be such a rich road!” From blue-green rivers to misty forests and glaciers, Nyingchi isn’t just a place to pass through—it’s a place where every step is filled with surprises!
