Thai Samakkhi Temple (Luang Pho Than Chai Rattanamung Muang Temple)

Wat Thai Samakkhi (Wat Luang Pho Than Jai Rattana Mung Muang) "Phra Chao Than Jai is sacred, the way of life of city people, famous for culture, beautiful community forest, full of friendliness, people are united and have Dharma" The original Wat Thai Samakkhi was called Wat Nuea or Wat Mai, located in Ban Mae Kuet Luang, Village No. 1, Mae Ka Sa Subdistrict, Mae Sot District, Tak Province. It was built in 1939 by Phra Khru Uthai (Khru Ba Moon), the abbot of Mae Sot Subdistrict, who was the chairman of the construction. Mr. Chak Phae Ka Sa donated the land to build the temple. Later, the group of devotees joined forces to build a bamboo hut with a thatched roof as a shelter for monks and novices to perform merit-making. When the construction was complete, Phra Khru Uthai also arranged for Phra Wan (Khru Ba Wan) to act as the abbot for 11 years. Later in 1950, Phra Tho Lo Kantawaso was invited to be the abbot. In 1958, he passed away, so Phra Boonchuay Sopako was invited to be the abbot. After 9 years, he moved to another place. Then, Phra Sukham Suwanno was invited to be the abbot for another 4 years. He then moved to study in another province. In 1983, Phra Athikan Buntha Akkhawanno was invited to be the abbot. After 8 years, he disrobed. In 1991, Phra Amphon Kantawiro was invited to be the abbot of Wat Thai Samakkhi until the present. Later, his name was changed to Phra Athikan Thammachak Kantawiro and he was granted the ecclesiastical title of Phra Khru Methakitkoson. Second-class abbot of Maekasa Subdistrict on January 3, 2009
