Doi Inthanon is the highest peak in Thailand, reaching an elevation of 2,565 meters above sea level. It was originally called "Doi Luang" or "Doi Luang Ang Ka." Doi Inthanon is named after King Inthawichayanon, the ruler of Chiang Mai. He was deeply concerned about the forests of northern Thailand and sought to preserve them. After his death, some of his ashes were enshrined in a stupa on Doi Luang's summit. The total distance is approximately 50 kilometers. • Bus: Take a Chiang Mai-Chom Thong songthaew from Chiang Mai Gate to Chom Thong District. Then, take a songthaew from in front of Wat Phra That Sri Chom Thong up the mountain.
