In Anhui, there lies a city like a lost pearl, radiating unique charm—it is Ma'anshan. Caishiji: The Fusion of Scenery and Culture My first stop in Ma'anshan was the renowned Caishiji. Along with Nanjing's Yanziji and Yueyang's Chenlingji, it is known as one of the "Three Famous Jis of the Yangtze River." With its steep cliffs, stunning scenery, and numerous historical sites, Caishiji is considered the foremost of the three, earning the reputation of "Eternal Beauty." Stepping into the scenic area feels like entering a breathtaking landscape painting or a grand historical epic. The mountains of Caishiji, though not towering, possess a majestic aura. Climbing along the winding mountain paths, every step reveals nature's artistry. Lush trees line the roads, their intertwined branches forming a cool canopy. A gentle breeze rustles the leaves, as if whispering ancient tales. Taibai Tower, one of Caishiji's iconic structures, stands at the foot of Cuiluo Mountain with its soaring eaves and grand architecture. Built to commemorate Li Bai, the tower houses many cultural relics and historical materials about the great poet. Inside, an air of classical elegance permeates the space. The walls are adorned with Li Bai's poetry and calligraphy, each poem a window into his free-spirited life and his love for nature and living. Sanyuan Cave is another highlight of Caishiji. Perched on a cliff by the river, the cave features bizarre rock formations and unique scenery. From the cave entrance, the vast Yangtze River stretches endlessly, its shimmering surface bustling with boats—a scene both lively and magnificent. The river breeze carries moisture and coolness, inviting contemplation. Legend has it that Li Bai visited Caishiji many times, leaving behind numerous beloved poems. Here, he drank, composed poetry, admired the moon, and poured his passion and admiration for nature into his verses. Today, wandering through Caishiji, one can almost glimpse his ethereal figure and hear his impassioned recitations. Li Bai's Tomb: A Sacred Site to Honor the Poet Leaving Caishiji, I arrived at Li Bai's Tomb with reverence. This is the resting place of the immortal poet and a national key cultural relic. The tomb complex, nestled against a mountain, is shaded by lush trees and adorned with vibrant flowers, creating a tranquil retreat. The architecture of Li Bai's Tomb is elegant and harmonious. Along the central axis, I encountered the memorial archway, Taibai Stele Forest, Tiaoqing Pavilion, Taibai Shrine, and Li Bai's Tomb. Each site is steeped in cultural significance, immersing visitors in the weight of history. Inside Taibai Shrine, a statue of Li Bai stands with a handsome visage and profound gaze, as if deep in thought. Surrounding the statue are relics and historical materials that offer deeper insight into his life and literary achievements. Standing before his tomb, I silently laid a bouquet of flowers to pay homage to this great poet. Though he rests here, his poetry lives on, shining brightly in the treasure trove of Chinese culture. Putang: Nature's Gift On my third day in Ma'anshan, I visited Putang National Holiday Park, hailed as the "Natural Oxygen Bar of Ma'anshan" and a perfect getaway to reconnect with nature. Upon entering Putang, I was awestruck by its beauty. Surrounded by mountains and dense forests, the air was fresh and invigorating, like a forgotten paradise. Strolling along Putang's paths, I was greeted by swaying bamboo and babbling streams, a true idyllic escape. Towering bamboo lined the trails, with sunlight filtering through the leaves to cast golden patterns. The crystal-clear streams flowed over rocks, creating a melodious symphony of nature. Beyond its natural beauty, Putang offers exciting activities. I tried outdoor adventures, discovering the power of teamwork and the vitality of nature. Expansive lawns are perfect for camping and picnics. Imagine lying in a tent under a starry sky, caressed by a gentle breeze—pure bliss. Cuisine: A Taste of Ma'anshan No trip to Ma'anshan is complete without savoring its unique and unforgettable cuisine. Dangtu Braised Pork Noodles, a local specialty, are beloved for their rich flavor and affordability. The noodles are chewy, the pork tender and melt-in-your-mouth, all bathed in a savory broth that leaves you craving more. Caishiji Tea Tofu is another Ma'anshan delicacy. Its smooth texture and rich bean flavor make it delicious on its own or as an ingredient in dishes. Hexian's Fried Sparrows are crispy outside, tender inside, and irresistibly aromatic.
