Lyon: A Chic & Charming City Guide 🇫🇷✨

#summervacay I've put together a fantastic list of chic and captivating spots from my two-day summer trip to Lyon! I feel like I truly embraced the city's unique blend of history, modern flair, and local charm. Summer Blooms at Les Célestins 🌸🎭 If you're ever visiting Lyon in the summer, you absolutely can't miss the square in front of the Les Célestins Theatre. I loved seeing it, with its two-tone magnolia trees in full bloom, creating such a stunning display. After a rain shower, the ground was even covered in fallen petals—a truly magical sight! Coffee & Quirks at Slake Coffee House ☕🛁 I found a popular and stylish coffee spot right in the city center, Slake Coffee House. Its trendy interior and unique outdoor seating, famously featuring a converted bathtub, seemed like a fun photo op. While I found the matcha decent, I have to give a strong warning about the charcoal latte with its "strange Indian spices"—definitely one to avoid! Address: 9 Rue de l'Ancienne Préfecture, 69002 Lyon Hôtel-Dieu: A Masterpiece of Transformation 🛍️🏨 My absolute favorite and most chic discovery was the former Hôtel-Dieu (Old Catholic Hospital). I was amazed by its sheer size, describing it as an immense complex with long corridors and interconnected courtyards. This historic site has been brilliantly transformed into a very fashionable and modern commercial center, housing shops, hotels, and restaurants. I highly recommend exploring the tasteful homeware store, Kave Home, found within. It's a fantastic example of adaptive reuse! A Mix of Old & New 🚶♀️🎨 Beyond these specific spots, I also enjoyed: The traditional shops of the Old Town blending with modern architecture. The beautiful courtyard of the Musée des Beaux-Arts (Lyon Museum of Fine Arts).
