Zhongyuan Giant Buddha

The Zhongyuan Giant Buddha is located in Foquan Temple, Zhaocun Township, Lushan County, Pingdingshan City, Henan Province. It is the world's tallest bronze standing Buddha statue. With a total height of 208 meters, it cost 1.2 billion yuan and took 12 years to complete. The Buddha statue is made of 3,300 tons of copper, 108 kg of gold, and over 15,000 tons of special steel, welded together from 13,300 copper plates. In 2008, it was consecrated by 108 eminent monks. The Giant Buddha was sculpted in accordance with Buddhist rituals.
