Standing before the colossal Vairocana Buddha, I was awed into silence. The sheer scale and detail of this place are unmatched. Luoyang also surprised me with its vibrant spring charm. Every April, the Luoyang Peony Festival draws visitors from across China to admire the city’s iconic flowers. I visited Wangcheng Park, where peonies bloomed in brilliant shades—red, pink, and snow-white—symbolizing wealth, grace, and peace. The Luoyang Museum, offering artifacts from the city's glorious dynastic past, and the traditional Luoyang Water Banquet, a 24-dish feast, rounded out the cultural experience beautifully.
