🌈 Attraction Features: Wuyi Mountain, as a dual World Heritage Site for both nature and culture, gained a new identity in September 2021 as one of the first five national parks in China. 🎟️ Ticket Information: Advance reservation required. 💗 Other tips: During the Dragon Boat Festival, to avoid the crowds, we did not choose the popular Wuyi Mountain Scenic Area, which is likely to be packed with tourists and hustlers, and where it's so crowded that there's hardly room to move. Instead, we opted for a remote and secluded spot over 60 kilometers away from Sangu Resort, where one can stroll alone amidst the primitive forests, rocky sides, tea fields, canyons, and waterfalls of Wuyi Mountain National Park (Nature Reserve). As the conservation measures of Wuyi Mountain Nature Reserve have been increasingly strengthened, ordinary tourists can no longer penetrate into the core area of this ecological paradise as they used to, except for some scientific researchers. However, do not be discouraged or regretful, as you can still experience similar landscapes in the transitional zone between the scenic area and the nature reserve. This includes the paid scenic areas outside the checkpoints—Qinglong Waterfall, Longchuan Grand Canyon, and the No.1 Rafting in East China. Beyond that, you need to register in advance at the checkpoint to enter Tongmu Pass (usually, you can register through the local homestay where you plan to stay). Inside Tongmu Pass, the Half-Mountain Tea Trail and Taoyuan Valley are both pristine forest trails. Following the designated routes is not difficult, and the ascent is not steep. The trails are rich in natural charm, with wild and cultivated tea trees (the origin of black tea in the world is the Lapsang Souchong and Jin Jun Mei from Tongmu Pass) and various flowers, insects, birds, and animals (after all, many titles such as 'Kingdom of Birds', 'Paradise of Snakes', and 'World of Insects' were earned here). Escaping the city's hustle and bustle, spending a couple of days and one night in this quiet and refreshing primitive forest is indeed a good getaway.

Let's go wild in the mountains, where the water is azure, the hills are lush, and the mountain forests are always shrouded in mist after the rain, while the night sky on a clear day is filled with stars. Perhaps, the rainy nights in the mountains are cold, but the ordinary days when the rain falls are so comforting, with the start and end of each day, a cup of tea is enough to fill the time. In spring, go to the mountains to smell the fragrance of a hundred blooming flowers. In summer, chase the fish in the streams of the mountains. In autumn, it's perfect to set up a tea stall on the outdoor grass and leisurely pass an afternoon. In winter, with friends, light a fire, brew some aged tea, sip it slowly, or drink the wild fruit wine brewed in spring, and get happily tipsy. |||. Although the sightseeing car ticket for Wuyi Mountain can be purchased for up to three days, if time is limited, a one-day tour can also enjoy the essence of the scenic area. The previous note has already introduced the basic situation of the scenic area in detail, and this time will focus on the analysis of the southern part of the scenic area. 🔸Tianyou Peak Visitors to Wuyi Mountain invariably choose to visit here, as it is the best viewing point in the entire scenic area. Although the mountain is not very high, some sections are quite steep. Pay attention and concentrate during the climb, and the tour time is about 1.5-2 hours. 🔸Jiuqu Stream Bamboo Rafting This is the signature activity of Wuyi Mountain, with picturesque scenery, and must be experienced personally. Here are some tips for the activity: 🔹Ticket Purchase Tickets can be purchased in advance as a package and scheduled, or bought on-site. It is recommended to buy in advance during peak periods to avoid ticket shortages. On-site ticket sales are from 7:20-10:00, 12:00-15:20, please note that there is a certain distance between the ticket office and the boarding check point. 🔹Boarding Regardless of the ticket channel, you need to go to the check point in advance before boarding, swipe your ID card to get a ticket. The staff will arrange for groups of 8 to board. 🔹Precautions The rafting process is generally smooth, but some areas have splashing water. Shoe covers are somewhat useful, but not necessary. Raincoats are recommended on rainy days. 🔹Around the Dock The dock is located in the center of Xingcun Town, where there are many affordable shops to taste local delicacies. At the same time, the town's market is also worth a visit to experience the life of the locals. 🔸Other Attractions 🔹Huxiao Rock The view of Huxiao Rock is similar to that of Tianyou Peak. If you have already visited Tianyou Peak, you can choose not to climb. The tour route is one-way, and the exit leads to Yunnvfeng and One-Line-Sky, which is recommended to be visited with other attractions. The tour takes about 1 hour without climbing, and 1.5-2 hours with climbing. 🔹Yunnvfeng This place is only a viewing platform, and it is not possible to climb to the top of Yunnvfeng. It cannot be reached directly from any entrance, and you need to transfer after getting off at Tianyou Peak. It is recommended to visit together with Huxiao Rock. The tour takes about 0.5 hours. 🔹One-Line-Sky Although the area is small, it has distinctive features. There are two routes inside the scenic area, with the right One-Line-Sky being more thrilling. The narrowest part is only thirty centimeters, it is advised to enter lightly, avoiding backpacks or carried items. The tour time is about 0.5-1 hours.

🔥How should one enjoy Wuyi Mountain? Wuyi Mountain is truly beautiful, with many local snacks and impressive performances. In short, it comes highly recommended for its beauty, fun, and food. 🚄Transportation 1️⃣Take the high-speed train to Nanping City Station, where you can catch a light rail to the south entrance of Wuyi Mountain, which takes about 40 minutes, and the scenery along the way is very beautiful. 2️⃣Wuyi Mountain North Station: It takes about 30 minutes by taxi to the south gate. 3️⃣Wuyi Mountain is a rather large scenic area with many spots to visit. There are convenient shuttle buses between each spot, so it's advisable to buy a combined ticket for the bus and bamboo raft. 🏠Accommodation It's recommended to stay in the Sanggu Holiday Area, which is about 2 kilometers from the south gate of the scenic area. The old street there has many dining options, which is very convenient. 🍽️Dining I highly recommend the smoked goose, which I ate for 3 days straight without getting tired of it. I tried both Aliange and Shen Dama's, and I recommend Shen Dama's more because their meat is more flavorful. It's not recommended for those who prefer lighter tastes. I also tried two popular restaurants, Da San Wan and Friendship Xiaochao. I recommend Da San Wan more, as the taste is slightly better. Recommended dishes are stir-fried taro silk, sauerkraut fried bamboo shoots, and water buffalo beef. Honestly, the red-eye fish is really average and also quite expensive. There are many snacks on the old street at night, I recommend the Guang Bing and sour bamboo shoot xiaolongbao. ⛰️Attractions 1️⃣Tianyou Peak: Not very high but a bit steep, it takes about 2-3 hours. The view of the Nine Bend River from halfway up the mountain is very beautiful. 2️⃣Rock Bone Flower Fragrance Trail: Worth visiting, it takes about 3 hours to complete, is 4.5 kilometers long, and features various landscapes, including wooden frames on cliffs and a narrow path to heaven. You need to transfer at Wuyi Palace and take a direct ride to Dahongpao, then follow the signs to the narrow path to heaven. 3️⃣Nine Bend River Rafting: Takes about 1.5 hours, the scenery along the way is picturesque, the boatman will explain, and in calm areas, tourists are allowed to pole for photos, which costs 20 yuan per person. 4️⃣Dahongpao Performance: Opinions vary online, but I recommend it because it was my first time seeing such a natural landscape performance, and the 360-degree rotating seats were impressive. 5️⃣Baiyun Zen Temple: A temple on the mountain outside the scenic area, from which you can look down. The food on Song Street is not good, and it's not recommended to go specifically to A Narrow Path to Heaven and the Dahongpao Mother Tree.

Wuyishan is beautiful, the water is also beautiful. Sitting on a bamboo raft drifting along the Nine Bend River in Wuyishan, listening to the boatman telling various beautiful legends along the way, it feels like you are traveling in a painting. After getting off the boat, walk to Zhizhian. Suddenly it starts to rain heavily. When people don't stay, the sky keeps people. Sit down and go to drink tea in Zhizhian. Travel tips: 1. The ticket for the Nine Bend River bamboo raft must be booked in advance, and you should arrive at the dock earlier on the day of reservation. There are 8 people per boat, and teams are randomly arranged. If you want to listen to the boatman's story, you need to pay a little extra. 2. It is recommended to visit Zhizhian after getting off the boat. It's not too far to walk there, and it's a quiet place to calm your mind. 3. The weather in Wuyishan is unpredictable, especially when you are on a bamboo raft, it is recommended to bring rain gear.

Now, the Wuyi Mountain scenic area is free of charge, and the city buses are also free. In this case, a trip to Wuyi Mountain before the end of April could save some money. The weather is mostly rainy and overcast, and during the two days I visited, there was rain, but it didn't last long, which felt okay. The spring scenery is also nice, with more greenery and blooming flowers. Climbing the mountain is sweaty due to the humidity. If it's your first time visiting Wuyi Mountain with free admission, I suggest taking a bamboo raft from Xingcun Wharf to Wuyishan Palace, passing through the Nine Bends. Then, if you still have energy, I recommend climbing Tianyou Peak, which is not very high at only 408 meters, and offers a picturesque view from the top. Wuyishan Palace is a good place for leisure and rest. For accommodation, I recommend choosing a homestay village in Nanyuanling or Sangui Roundabout. Wuyishan is absolutely breathtaking. We went there over Tomb sweeping holiday, and the price to go into the park was maybe a bit higher because of the holiday (¥365 for 3 days), but there is so much to do outside, that i don't think it's neccesary to go in.
