The White Horse Temple Series: The Thai Buddhist Hall

The Thai Buddhist Hall at the White Horse Temple, also known as the Thai Buddhist Hall Garden, is located on the west side of the ancient architecture area of the White Horse Temple. Covering an area of 11,664 square meters, its design is based on the essence of the Grand Palace and the Golden Mount Temple in Bangkok. It is a large Thai-style Buddhist hall and the largest hall in the International Buddhist Hall Garden of the White Horse Temple. The Thai Buddhist Hall was funded by Thailand and construction began in 1992. After two phases of construction, it was fully completed in 2014. A grand completion ceremony and a ceremony to welcome the Buddha's relics were held, during which the 'National Treasure' of Thailand - the Buddha's relics that had been enshrined in the Golden Mount Temple in Bangkok for over a hundred years - were transferred to the relic tower of the White Horse Temple. This event became a testament and symbol of the friendly exchanges between China and Thailand. To show the importance of the completion of this hall, 722 members of the Thai delegation, including the Director of the Royal Thai Government Office, attended the related Buddhist activities. 🌟Highlights: The main gate of the hall faces east and consists of three square doors arranged side by side. Both the main and side doors are decorated with spires, and above the main door stands a gilded Thai-style mountain gate Buddha. On September 22, 2014, a group of high monks from the Golden Mount Temple came to Luoyang and presented this bone relic to the White Horse Temple. It is now enshrined in the relic tower of the Thai Buddhist Hall.
