Wat Saensukharam, Luang Prabang

#Laos attractions Wat Saen Sukharam is located on Xieng Thong Road, Luang Prabang, Laos. Wat Saen Sukharam was built in 2261 by Ta Chao Rang during the reign of King Kisarat. The name of Wat Saen comes from the 100,000 kip donated as the initial capital for construction. It has been renovated twice today, the first time in 2475 and the second time in 2500. It was decorated with gold leaf by craftsmen from Luang Prabang in the 20th century. The sim is a Vientiane-style sim, meaning it is tall, but the roof is layered like the sim of Luang Prabang, and the roof in the center is added like the sim of Xieng Kwang. The pillars are octagonal and the tops of the pillars are shaped like lotus petals. The decorations are decorated with gold on a red background.
