Mission Inn Hotel & Spa (Riverside) Although it’s a bit far from downtown, this historic building in Spanish colonial style is as beautiful as a fairy tale. White walls, red tiles, vintage corridors—every corner feels like a movie set. No wonder U.S. presidents have stayed here. 2. The Broad / Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) A paradise for modern art enthusiasts! The most eye-catching piece is Jeff Koons’ "Tulips"—a colorful, oversized balloon flower made of stainless steel. It appears playful but subtly critiques the hollow glamour of capitalism, making me reflect while snapping photos. 3. Santa Monica Beach & Pier Sunshine, sandy beaches, and an old-fashioned Ferris wheel—Santa Monica at sunset is gentle and romantically American. Walking on the wooden boardwalk with the breeze, I suddenly felt like a character in a movie. Here, there’s a must-visit photo spot: the Route 66 end marker! This "End of the Trail" sign stands on the pier, marking the end of the iconic Route 66, one of America’s most historic highways. Countless travelers have journeyed from Chicago across the country just to conclude their adventure here. Taking a photo in front of the sign isn’t just a keepsake; it’s a tribute to the American Dream. 4. Tower Theatre Apple Store An Apple Store transformed from a theater, it’s a perfect blend of history and technology. Golden domes, crystal chandeliers, and modern equipment coexist in one space, making even shopping for a phone feel like appreciating architectural art. 5. Griffith Observatory City views by day, stargazing by night. Whether you’re chasing the romance of "La La Land" or looking for a quiet spot to admire the twinkling lights of Los Angeles, Griffith Observatory is the perfect finale. This journey taught me: Los Angeles isn’t just about celebrities and movies; it’s a city of stories, art, history, and gentle landscapes, waiting for you to discover slowly.
