Ban Wichayen

When visiting Lopburi, don't forget to stop by Ban Wichayen, also known as the Residence of the Royal Ambassadors, a significant historical tourist destination located in Tha Hin Subdistrict, Mueang District, Lopburi Province. It was built during the reign of King Narai the Great to accommodate Western ambassadors who came to the court. Later, King Narai granted this residence to Chevalier de Chaumont, the French ambassador at the Siamese court at that time. The architecture of Ban Wichayen is Renaissance style, with a harmonious blend of Thai architecture, making it the oldest Western-style architecture in Thailand. It is highly recommended for tourists who are interested in historical learning to visit this place.
