Royal Ambassador's House or Wichayen House

The Royal Envoy House or Ban Wichayen is located on Wichayen Road, Mueang Lop Buri District, Lop Buri Province, not far from Phra Narai Ratchaniwet. In the past, these beautiful houses were built to accommodate the embassies who came to pay their respects to King Narai the Great in Lop Buri. The first embassy from France that arrived in 1685 stayed here. Later, when a Greek named Constantine Phaulkon entered the service and received merit, he was appointed Chao Phraya Wichayen and granted him a residence on the west side of the Royal Envoy House, which is the origin of the name of the Royal Envoy House or Ban Luang Wichayen. The architecture of some of the Royal Envoy Houses is truly European, especially the large building on the east side, built of brick and mortar, with two floors. The windows and doorways reflect the Renaissance style of Western art, which was popular at that time. #Historic site #Lopburi #Travel #Follow the footsteps of Aojao

Ban Chaophraya Wichayen

Ban Wichayen is located in Mueang District, Lopburi Province. North of Wang Narai Ratchaniwet Palace, it was built around 2228 BE because during the reign of King Narai the Great, Chao Phraya Wichayen was a high-ranking nobleman whom he favored, so he granted him a place to stay. The interior is divided into three parts: the royal residence for ambassadors on the east side and the west side is the residence of Chao Phraya Wichayen and his wife, Thao Thong Khip Ma. The central part is the location of a Christian church. It is currently preserved for future generations to visit. The architecture is beautiful in the Renaissance style mixed with Thai architecture. #VisitHistoricalSite #VisitHistoricalSite
