I declare! Longyearbyen, Norway, is the real-life Frozen!

On this trip to Norway, I unlocked an incredibly niche but breathtakingly beautiful place—Longyearbyen! The fairytale ice and snow world has come to life. This trip was truly unforgettable, and I can't let anyone else not know about it! 📅Itinerary Day 1: Arrived in Longyearbyen in the morning. The airport is very close to the city center, and it only took about 15 minutes by taxi to get to the hotel and check in. After a short rest, I walked to the city center. Strolling through the streets, looking at the colorful little houses scattered among the ice and snow, the Nordic atmosphere is fantastic, perfect for taking pictures. I unknowingly wandered around for 2–3 hours. Day 2: Chartered a car in the morning to the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. The scenery along the way was spectacular, with continuous glaciers and snow-capped mountains, truly stunning. I spent over an hour visiting the Seed Vault, learning about its significance and function. It's truly amazing. In the afternoon, I went hiking on a nearby glacier. The entire trip took about 3 hours, led by a professional guide, so there were no safety concerns at all. Day 3: Rode a snowmobile to explore an ice cave. It was super exciting, and the round trip plus the visit took about 5 hours. The inside of the ice cave was like a crystal palace, with the blue ice walls shimmering under the lights. Every photo I took turned out great. ✨Highlights The Svalbard Global Seed Vault is known as the "Doomsday Seed Vault," storing crop seeds from all over the world, representing the hope of global agriculture. Standing in front of the Seed Vault, thinking about its mission, I felt a sense of reverence. During the glacier hike, I got up close to the massive glaciers and touched the ice and snow that have been there for thousands of years. The awe was beyond words. The ice cave exploration was even more magical, with the unique blue ice walls resembling works of art sculpted by nature. 🍱Food Recommendations I highly recommend Coast Spitsbergen restaurant, located in the city center. Their king crab meal is absolutely amazing, a huge plate full of fresh and sweet crab meat. It was so satisfying! The burgers are also unique, with firm patties and special sauces. You must try them! 🏨Accommodation Experience I stayed at Basecamp Spitsbergen, located near the harbor. Stepping out of the hotel, you can see the beautiful bay views. The room was very cozy, decorated in a simple Nordic style, and well-equipped. The staff at the front desk were very welcoming and even helped me plan my itinerary. The temperature in Longyearbyen is relatively low year-round, so be sure to bring enough warm clothing. Also, follow the guide's instructions during outdoor activities and pay attention to safety.
