The City of Seven Hills: Lisbon, Portugal

Why did I want to visit Lisbon? Because I wanted to see the cable cars climbing the hills! 🧡 Lisbon has three cable car lines: Gloria, Bica, and Lavra. My top choice was the Bica line! I was excited to see the cable cars running through the streets filled with bars, restaurants, and people hopping on and off. However, while waiting, a local informed me that the Bica line hadn’t been operating for two weeks (as of May). 🥲 Many others were waiting like us, so this might be information you can only find out once you’re there. 🥲 I decided to check out the Lavra line, which is said to be the least exciting of the three. Despite its reputation, I read an article saying that the Lavra line is mainly used by locals and adventurous tourists who want to ride all three cable cars. For some reason, this made me want to go even more! The tracks are narrow, and in some places, the cable car passes very close to the surroundings. 🤣 The cars run every 15 minutes, and I got so absorbed in watching them that I ended up feeling satisfied and didn’t visit the Gloria line. However, since the three lines are relatively close to each other, it’s worth visiting all of them if you have time. 😊 Operating hours: Monday to Saturday: 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM Sunday and holidays: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM As you walk through the city, you might encounter the famous Tram 28 or find yourself captivated by the colorful buildings and tiles. 🤤💕
