You can park briefly on the roadside in front of the North Kichijoji Temple. 📚Brief History It was founded in the fifth year of the Dali Period of the Tang Dynasty. It was renamed "Bei Jixiangyuan" during the Taiping Xingguo Period of the Song Dynasty. It was rebuilt many times during the Yuan Dynasty, the Hongwu, Tianshun, Chenghua Period of the Ming Dynasty, and the Qing Dynasty. 🏛Overall layout It faces south and originally had three courtyards. The Spring and Autumn Tower and the Bell and Drum Tower were destroyed in the 1950s and 1970s. The front hall, middle hall and back hall remain on the central axis, with side gates, wing rooms, auxiliary halls, meditation rooms and ear halls on both sides. The existing front hall and middle hall are relics of the Song Dynasty, while the rest were rebuilt in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. 🌈Key points Highlight 1⃣️Song Dynasty Front Hall The front hall is three bays wide and six rafters deep, with a single-eaved hip roof. The roof of the hall rises gently and the eaves extend far into the distance Highlight 2⃣️Song Dynasty Central Hall The central hall is three bays wide and six rafters deep, with a single-eaved hanging roof. The beams are simple and the construction techniques are simple, retaining the architectural style of the Northern Song Dynasty. There seem to be murals on the two gables in the hall. Highlight 3⃣️The Ming Dynasty Back Palace It is five bays wide and five rafters deep, with a single-eaved hip roof. The two-wing buildings are simple in structure, with a width of three rooms and a depth of four rafters, and a hard-mountain style gray tile roof.
