Underrated Lincoln is what I imagine England to be like!

If I had to pick an underrated city in England, Lincoln would definitely be one of them! This small town in England is really beautiful, just like the England I imagined! Destination: Lincoln, England Train: 1–3 hours from London, Manchester, Sheffield, etc. Fun fact: Lincoln is located in East Midlands, Lincolnshire, and is a perfect day trip destination with its medieval history, Roman ruins, and quaint cobblestone streets. Tips: ⛪️Lincoln Cathedral This magnificent cathedral was built in 1072 and towers over the surrounding city. It is the most famous landmark in the city. You can explore the beautiful nave, chapter house, and cloisters, and if you're lucky, you can visit the Wren Library, which is open irregularly. 🏰Lincoln Castle One of the four surviving copies of the Magna Carta of 1215 is a highlight of Lincoln Castle. In addition, the medieval wall walk is another highlight of the castle. From the castle walls, you can see some of the best views of Lincoln, especially the cathedral. 🚶Steep Hill This charming cobblestone street is the main route to the cathedral and castle. The street is lined with shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars, and there are many photogenic and Instagrammable spots along the way. This street is very steep, with a gradient of 14%, making it one of the steepest streets in England! 🚪Newport Arch This ancient arch is the Roman gate of Lincoln, dating back to the 3rd century. It is one of the oldest arches in England that is still in use and busy with traffic, and one of the best-preserved Roman ruins in the city. Be sure to check it out! ☕️Stokes High Bridge Cafe Not far from Lincoln City Hall, there is a cafe called Stokes High Bridge Cafe, which was built in 1540 and has a long history. You can come here for afternoon tea!
