Enter the Dongba Culture Courtyard

The entrance to the courtyard is unassuming, with two wooden doors bearing the marks of time. Gently push them open, and it's as if you've unlocked a gateway to the depths of history. What greets you is a typical Naxi traditional building, with a timber frame, upturned eaves, and a roof of grey tiles. The wooden beams and pillars are carved with exquisite patterns, which are not mere decorations but symbols of Dongba culture, narrating ancient legends and beliefs. They may be auspicious beasts symbolizing good fortune, or depictions of scenes from the lives of Naxi ancestors. Each line embodies the craftsman's dedication, and every carving carries the legacy of the culture. Lijiang Old Town · Lijiang In the center of the courtyard is an open space, paved with flat, solid stone slabs. Sunlight pours down unreservedly, bathing the entire courtyard in a golden glow. In the corners of the courtyard, several ancient trees flourish, casting patches of shade. A gentle breeze rustles the leaves, as if softly humming ancient Naxi ballads. Beneath the trees are a few stone benches and a stone table, where the Naxi people rest and chat daily. Imagine a lazy afternoon, with elders sitting here, sipping fragrant Pu'er tea, and recounting the orally transmitted Dongba stories, as if time itself has slowed down.
